You pass the Goblin guard a coin and his eyes bulge out. He nibbles on it to see if it is real and then smiles broadly.
"I see you are a generous tipper! I like that. I like that a lot! Let me tell you what, since you have been so good to me, I would like to help you out. What is your errand in our land?"
You explain your task and he nods.
"Well, if you are wanting to see the king, then you need to be warned: some joker has been going around the kingdom switching roadsigns. We have been able to fix most of them, but when I came into work today, I noticed the signs at the crossroads were still switched. The one that is supposed to point to the Crystal Lake now points to the Court and the one for the Court to the Lake. Since that was only a few hours ago, I imagine no one has taken the time to fix them yet."
You thank the bridge guard for this warning and continue on your way across the bridge.
The tunnel broadens and becomes a great thoroughfare. Soon you are joined by other travelers, small, grotesque creatures, each weirder than the last, some carrying packs, some pushing mine carts, all not that interested in you. You come to a fork in the tunnel and find a sign with an arrow pointing down each tunnel.
The arrow to the right reads: to the Court of the Goblin King.
The arrow to the left reads: to the Crystal Lake.
