Give him the gift

You present the wizard with the box which he eyes with bright, eager eyes.

"A gift? I see . . . I do like a good gift. Is it edible? Is it shiny?"

You admit that you have no idea, having not opened the box, and he says, "Well, I doubt it will be enough to sway me to your side, but I will accept it nonetheless."

He snatches the box and opens the lid. A giant hand pops out of the box, grabs him by the beard and pulls him inside. The Wizard shrieks and is gone.

That was unexpected. . .

Do you

put the lid on the box and return with it to the bear?

or

call out to the Wizard and offer your assistance?

or

leave the Wizard there to stew a bit and go look elsewhere for adventure?
