You fetch the old man's tackle box

You reach for the rusty bucket only to have it jump away from you, onto a nearby rock. Surprised but determined to do the old fellow a favor, you jump after it only to have it slip from your grasp into the water where it floats, just out of reach. You ask the old man if you can borrow his fishing pole and spend several minutes attempting to hook the mischievous bucket, always missing by a fraction of an inch.

The old man watches you for a bit then seems to tire of the spectacle.

"Never mind," he says. He tears off his overalls as if they were a paper apron and is immediately a good two feet taller than he was and wearing an ermine lined blue velvet robe and a pointy hat. His personal hygiene has also miraculously improved. "As you can see, I am the Wizard of the Island! You have been most entertaining and somewhat helpful. What do you desire of me?" he intones. "Ask and it shall be yours!"

You explain the bear's dilemma and ask if he might help the bear find a mate. The Wizard's brow furrows and his nose crinkles.

"Such a mundane task? And for the sake of a bear? There is nothing I despise more than true love. It makes for such a sappy ending. Ask for something else or begone before I tire of you!"

Are you a diplomat and offer the Wizard the bear's gift in hopes of softening him up?

or

Are you a warrior and threaten to give him the beating of his life if he doesn't help your friend the bear?

or

Are you an honest soul who asks if there is any task that you might complete in order to sway him?
