You approach the cottage with the anxious Rilla, knowing that you didn't see any sign of Rin there, but hoping that she is able to discern some trace of him or better yet that he has never been there and is elsewhere, free and well. The witch's large, wolfish dog still sits upon the porch. When Rilla and the dog catch sight of each other there is an unmistakable look of recognition on both their faces.
"Oh, Rin, what did she do to you?" Rilla gasps in horror before rushing forward and embracing the dog about the neck. The dog whines and gently noses his face.
Well, you've done your part. Perhaps you should continue on the bear's quest.
