The woman goes into the house and a moment later you hear the rattling of pots and pans. The dog stays by your side, looking at you with piercing brown eyes, and you begin to suspect it has something it would like to tell you. It at least seems very anxious about everything that is going on. It keeps whining and walking out towards the path then returning to sit at your feet as if trying to lead you away from the house.
The old lady emerges from the house and offers you a cup of warm tea. It is dark and smells strong and bitter but somehow alluring. She waits for a moment for you to drink it but the steam wafting off the cup suggests that it is too hot to drink just yet so you set it down beside you to wait. She sighs slightly.
"I think I may have some cake in the pantry," she then says. "Please, drink your tea. I will be right back."
She enters the house once more. You take up the tea again. You could hazard a sip, but the dog whimpers when you start to bring it to your lips.
Will you drink the tea?
Will you set it aside?
or
Will you "accidentally" dump it out into the bushes?
