You open the cages and the creatures scurry out. The dog barks happily. The freed animals scamper for the open door. The birds take to the air, the mice disappear into the grass, but upon contact with sunlight the two rabbits transform, turning into two children, a girl and a boy. They turn and greet you.
"Thank you," says the girl. "We had been in that cage for weeks.We wish you a safe journey from here on out."
The children scurry off. The dog wags its tail, still looking sad somehow, and sits on the porch looking lost.
If you would like you can return to the crossroads now. There seems to be nothing left to do here at this time.

You have already met the Lady Rilla and now that this area is safe from the witch's evil, you go to fetch her at the crossroads.
