Planting the Orb

The bear takes the Orb with obvious awe and respect. It is pale pink and clear like blown glass but instead of bubbles of air, it is filled with tiny dots of light that twinkle endlessly. The daylight is already fading but the Orb is luminescent and surrounds you and the bear with a gentle light.

Carefully the bear scratches out a hole about six inches deep, drops the Orb inside, and covers it back up, patting the earth lovingly when he is finished. The light from the Orb filters through the earth and the bear sits back watching it lovingly, as if he were guarding a sleeping child.

You sit down to watch as well but soon find yourself lulled to sleep by the sound of the crickets and the warmth of the summer evening. You sleep until dawn.

You awake to find the bear dozing beside you; apparently he couldn't stay awake either. However, you and the bear are no longer alone. The clearing in front of the cave is now crowded with at least a dozen large bears, all presumably female and all staring at you hungrily. You nudge the bear and he wakes up with a growling grunt. He goggles the visiting bears for a moment before grinning and saying, "Welcome to my humble home, ladies!"

"Is this human our breakfast?" one of the bears asks grumpily. "There won't be enough to go around! I am starving!"

Do you offer to help the bears find another source of food?

or

Do you tell off the bear for thinking you are on the menu in the first place?
